The Rhoades School was established in 1980 to provide a safe haven for the intellectual, creative, and human potential of very able children. The children at The Rhoades School receive personal attention from a faculty and staff committed to contributing to each student's development.

The Rhoades School is a nonsectarian, independent, coeducational day school serving 300 children in kindergarten through eighth grade and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It is open to qualified children of any race, color, nationality, or religion.

The campus is composed of contemporary buildings  with well-equipped classrooms, including a science lab, math lab, music lab, art lab, library, computer lab, auditorium, Spanish lab, and athletic facilities.

The academic calendar is based upon a traditional school year, with classes from September through mid-June. School begins at 8:30 each morning and ends between 2:50 and 3:30, depending upon the student's grade level.
