Music Academy

Teacher playing guitar

Concert

The goal of The Rhoades School Music Academy is to provide the highest quality, authentic music education to children.  Weekly lessons are taught by professional musicians and music educators who support the School’s philosophy of inspiring musical excellence, knowledge, and creativity in children.  We look forward to making beautiful music together this year!

The following ideas are suggested steps to promote successful instrument playing:
  • Practice performing in front of friends and family members.
  • Practice at least 15 minutes per day for (K–2) grades.
  • Practice at least 30 minutes per day for (3–8) grades.
  • Come prepared for lesson.
2011/12 recital dates to be announced.
Your music teacher will inform you of the time of your child’s performance.  We will make every effort to have siblings perform during the same concert.

Please remember that for the students’ protection, children must be signed out of Extended Day when they go home.  The roster will be with the Extended Day teacher each day.  Please make sure all people authorized to pick up your child/children are listed on each student’s emergency card in the office.  End of day late fee: Parents who pick up their children after 6:00 PM will pay $15 per child for each 15 minute segment, or part thereof, which will be billed to the family.  At 6:10 PM, a contact on your child’s Emergency Card will be notified.  Any time your child will be absent from a Music Class for any reason (school field trip, out-of-town, or illness), please call the music instructor and/or the school office 24 hours in advance or by 9:00 AM in case of illness.
