Application Process

The Rhoades School is a welcoming, challenging and stimulating educational facility where gifted children can flourish. If you think your child would benefit from a Rhoades School education, we encourage you to apply. Please read below for complete details of our application process. 
 
Once we receive your application, parent questionnaire and application fee, the Director of Admissions will call you to schedule an asessment appointment for your child.  Assessment appointments take approximately 35 to 55 minutes and are conducted on campus from November 14, 2011 through January 27th, 2011.  It is during this time that we meet all of the upcoming applicants for the 2012/13 school year.
 
Application Process
1.  All applicants are required to take The Rhoades School Admissions Assessment, which is given on campus by appointment. In order to schedule an assessment appointment, applicants need to return the following documents to the school office:
 
  • The Rhoades School Application
  • The Rhoades School Parent Questionnaire
  • A non-refundable $150.00 Application Fee made payable to The Rhoades School

The Rhoades School will contact each family upon receipt of the above documents to schedule The Rhoades School Admissions Assessment.

2.  Additionally, each applicant must submit the following documents in order for an applicant's file to be complete:

  • The applicant's most recent report card from the current school year (all grades)
  • The applicant's report card from the prior school year (for grades 2-8)
  • Standardized test scores from the prior school year (for upper grades only)
  • Administrator Recommendation Form (Grades 6-8)
  • Math Recommendation Form (Grades 6-8)
  • English Recommendation Form (Grades 6-8) 

 3.  The Rhoades School Teacher Recommendation Form(s) should be given to the child's current teacher by the parents. The Recommendation Form should be completed by the child's current teacher and mailed directly back to The Rhoades School. The Rhoades School Teacher Recommendation Forms should be mailed to:

Tuition
Tuition for the 2011/2012 school year is $14,500 for grades K-5 and $15,340 for grades 6-8. The Rhoades School tuition covers charges for classroom instruction, books, and most supplies. It does not include lunches, the extended day program, after school enrichment classes, or fees for field trips. Other expenses will vary with the interests and wishes of the individual. Financial aid is awarded on a confidential basis, and need is determined by the School Scholarship Service (SSS). Financial status or need are not considered in the admissions selection process.
