On Wednesday, March 28, The Rhoades School hosted a special screening of the film NOT The Last Butterfly. NOT The Last Butterfly is an award-winning documentary about The Butterfly Project. The Butterfly Project is a global education and arts program that memorializes the 1.5 million children who died in the Holocaust and honors the survivors. The project was co-founded in 2006 in San Diego by educator Jan Landau and artist Cheryl Rattner Price as an initiative to take Holocaust education out of the textbook and bring it to life in a way that inspires students of all faiths to make the world a better place.
After the film, families had the opportunity to paint their own butterflies as a remembrance for all the children who lost their lives in the Holocaust.
