Two Rhoades Students Named as Top 300 Broadcom MASTERS

Two Rhoades students were selected as members of the Top 300 MASTERS in the 2018 Broadcom MASTERS®. Current 8th grader Kian Chakamian (pictured) and recent graduate Jasmine Elasaad’s middle school science and engineering projects are among the top 300 in the United States from over 2,500 entrants. They qualified for this honor by competing at the California State Science Fair last spring.

Kian’s project was titled “Correlating Olive Quick Decline Syndrome Infections to Presence of Sharpshooters.” Jasmine’s project was titled “Effectiveness of Method of Loci on Short-Term and Long-Term Memory.”

Only 5% of science fair projects nationwide are selected for this opportunity. The next step in the Broadcom MASTERS takes place later this month when 30 finalists will be selected from the top 300 MASTERS.

Congratulations to Kian and Jasmine on this outstanding achievement!
