Last week, the Girl Rising Club held a Halloween-themed bake sale. Proceeds from the bake sale supported Girl Rising’s mission to Educate and Girl, Change the World and support the education of girls. This year, the Club is sponsoring three students: Ruth in Peru, Stellah in South Sudan, and Angela in the Philippines.
The Club is also providing a scholarship for a local student to participate in Casa de Amistad’s tutoring program. Casa de Amistad is an after school mentoring and tutoring program in Solana Beach, CA for under-served children and teenagers. Students in 7th and 8th grades volunteer once a month at Casa with the youngest students bringing hands-on STEAM activities.
We thank everyone who purchased something from the bake sale and for their support of the Girl Rising Club.
