Middle School Students Participate in a Roundtable Discussion with Historic America

On Monday, November 2, Rhoades Middle School students participated in a Rhoades Foundation sponsored roundtable discussion with Historic America, “Assessing the Strength of Our Democracy on the Eve of the 2020 Election.” Dr. Watts prepped Middle School students for the roundtable by discussing the meaning of democracy, the election, and gathering questions and concerns from Middle School students about the strength of our democracy. Roundtable panelists included Aaron Killian, the founder of Historic America, Alyssa Kurke, a graduate student at George Washington University Law School, and Josh Kutner, a rising senior at George Washington University. Both Alyssa and Josh have worked on Capitol Hill. Thanks to The Rhoades Foundation for sponsoring this event to promote civic education. If you have questions about this event, please contact Julie Watts at jwatts@rhoadesschool.com.
