Financial Assistance

Don’t let misconceptions about affordability discourage your family from exploring The Rhoades School. The Rhoades School is committed to enrolling a student body diverse in interests, talents, race, ethnicity, and economic background. The goal of our financial assistance program is to help bridge the gap between what a family can reasonably be expected to contribute and the costs associated with attending The Rhoades School.

Financial assistance at Rhoades is based on need; the school does not provide scholarships for academic, athletic, or artistic merit. Financial assistance decisions are made independent of admission decisions.

The chart below shows the percentage of awards and average award amount given to Rhoades families at various family income levels.

Family Income Percent of Awards Average Award
$0-$100,000 27% $6,952
$100,000-$150,000 32% $7,172
Greater than $150,000 41% $1,793

In order to determine a family’s eligibility to receive financial assistance, The Rhoades School subscribes to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid program by National Association of Independent Schools (SSS by NAIS), which calculates a family’s need and the expected family contribution (EFC) using a methodology that takes into consideration many items, including: income, assets, liabilities, family size and the number of students in tuition-charging schools. The financial assistance application is available on November 1, 2020 and due by February 1, 2021.

Important questions and answers about financial aid are answered in our Financial Assistance FAQ. Families are invited and encouraged to contact Danene Schott, Business Manager, at any time with additional questions.
