    2017 Summer Reading Challenge

    Remember to read!

The Rhoades School’s Summer Reading Challenge is designed to foster the love of reading in our students over the summer months.  Every grade level has a different challenge that they need to complete over the summer in order to qualify for our Summer Reading Program.

The books should be interesting and fun but not necessarily long or difficult.  They should suit your child’s reading level.  The Summer Reading Challenge is meant to be an enjoyable process as your child meets their personal goal.

In the fall, all of the students who complete the Challenge will be honored at a morning Flag Ceremony and will be photographed for the yearbook.

Record all of the books you read this summer, and then enter your list online through the Rhoades School website under “Student Life/Summer Reading Program” by grade level.  Alternatively you may print the form below and bring to school the first week of school.  The Summer Reading Challenge is based on the student’s 2017-2018 grade level.  Click on the grade level links to the left to access teacher recommended books.

Middle School students will also be participating in an all-school summer read:  Threads by Ami Polonsky.  This book also counts towards the Summer Reading Challenge.  For more information about this please see MS Summer Read.
