My name is Jessica Cascell. I am originally from Parkersburg, West Virginia (Go Mountaineers!). I attended West Virginia University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in English and a Bachelor of Science degree in History.
After marrying my husband, Paul, I moved to North Carolina where I worked at a law firm specializing in Family Law. From there, I moved to Hawaii where I took on a new job- mother to twin boys! Once the boys were born, my husband and I decided to move to Washington, D.C. where our sons could be closer to family. While living in D.C., I went to The George Washington University where I earned a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education. Since then, I have worked as a Kindergarten and First Grade Teacher in Fairfax County Schools in Virginia as well as Onslow County Schools in North Carolina. While working as a First Grade Teacher in North Carolina, I decided to attend the University of North Carolina-Wilmington to gain more training in reading strategies. In 2016, I became a certified Reading Recovery teacher.
Teaching is not my only passion. I love to travel and explore new places, read, watch football games, and spend time with my family and friends.
