Since 1980, our school has been known in San Diego County for its excellence in Kindergarten through eighth grade education. We combine a challenging and robust curriculum with innovative instruction designed to meet the unique needs and passions of gifted students.
As a school designed for and dedicated to serving bright, high achieving students, we focus on teaching children how to think, not what to think. Students are provided with an appropriate technology-rich curriculum, a supportive peer group, and suitable guidance in an encouraging and thoughtful manner. Our faculty sets the achievement bar very high and engages students in a rigorous curriculum that requires them to think persistently, flexibly, and creatively, while striving for accuracy and precision.
We build the skills of self-confidence and achievement to enable our graduates to enroll and succeed in the high school of their choice. Remarkably diverse in their achievements, The Rhoades School’s alumni/alumnae find themselves well positioned for continued, impressive success, not only in the secondary school setting of their choosing, but also in the college environment.
In addition to academic excellence, we are proud of our warm, welcoming, and inclusive community. We offer many convenient ways to stay in touch, including newsletters, direct teacher email access, classroom websites, Facebook, Twitter and open availability of classroom visits. Students, families and faculty appreciate being part of this supportive and nurturing environment where all members are known, valued and experience a sense of belonging.
We invite you to come visit The Rhoades School and see for yourself if we are the right educational environment for your bright, curious child. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
