Having spent my formative years in Toronto, Canada, I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in Biology.  From there, I continued my education in Buffalo, New York, earning a Masters of Science in Education along with a Multi-Subject K-12 Teaching Credential.   I began my teaching career in Bloomington, Indiana in a 5th grade classroom.  Our family then relocated to California where I continued my teaching career in a 1st grade classroom.  When it was time to start a family I chose to stay at home for 10 years raising my three sons. Concurrently, I completed the additional work that was required for my California Clear Teaching Credential.

After those wonderful years at home with my children, it was time for me to come back to my career as an educator. I began teaching 3rd grade at the Rhoades School in 2005.  My work at Rhoades with gifted students has solidified my singular love of teaching and learning.  My teaching pedagogy, while based on Vygotsky’s principles, has grown to envelope a variety of Best Practice teaching norms. I enjoy extending my own skills and abilities, while developing innovative curriculum, and building a strong learning community in my classroom.
