Ms. Mary Bologna - Middle School Math Specialist

Dear Parents & Students,

Welcome to Middle School Math!

It goes without saying that this year will be different from years that we have experienced before.  Yet, we are all in this together and we will move forward with enthusiasm and determination! Whether we are in class face-to-face or Zooming, I am so excited about my classes and the students that I will be teaching this year!

I have been teaching mathematics at The Rhoades School since 2006. And, I can’t begin to tell you how fortunate I am to be in the presence of such outstanding colleagues and remarkably bright students!  Currently, I am teaching Algebra 1B/Geometry, Algebra 2/Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus and 6B T-Th Hybrid Advisory.

I earned a Bachelor’s of  Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of Arizona and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Loyola Marymount University.

Prior to coming to Rhoades, I taught high school mathematics and science for 38 years at Mayfield Senior School in Pasadena.  I also taught afternoon and evening mathematics classes for 6 years at California State University at Los Angeles (CSULA).  Additionally, I worked as a Senior Mathematician for the Bendix Corporation for three years after I graduated from college.

I enjoy all types of puzzles, games and mathematical recreational challenges.  I also love to cook, read and spend time with family and friends.  But most of all, I love teaching my multi-talented students who keep me on my toes!
